As of March 2, Canisius freshman Amanda Baun is the number one pitcher in the conference.
Her statistics:
ERA #1 (2.33)
Wins #1 (4)
Strikeouts #1 (53)
Shutouts #1 (2)
Opponent's Batting Average #2 (.212)
Not bad for someone who's started only 7 college games in her life!

Those are impressive numbers for a freshman pitcher, especially with a tough schedule like Canisius has played.
Are your blog readers as "difficult" as ours? If I called a pitcher the "No. 1 pitcher in the conference," I would never hear the end of it, even if her stats proved it like Baun's do. Some of the fans from other schools (i.e. parents of the players from other schools) are ridiculous and pick at every single word. It is beyond annoying.
You should see the 'comments' that I don't post on our blog. They are so rude and mean. I find I can't say something positive about anyone anymore without someone being offended that I didn't mention their daughter as well. Sigh.
As soon as I got readers from the other teams, I created a blog for the MAAC, so I have avoided that problem!
Amanda's down to 1.87 now, still leading the MAAC. And she just won MAAC pitcher of the week again. And she had a bit of pressure put on her with the departure of another pitcher.
